Positions for assistant investigator, postdoc, research assistant, and intern students (Chinese Version)
Introduction
Yong Zhang is a principle investigator supported by CAS 100 Talents Program at Institute of Zoology (IOZ). As a computational biologist, he studies how human evolved especially how human brain evolved based on large scale datasets generated by microarray or next-generation sequencing. His work has been published on top journals such as Science, PloS Bio and Genome Res. His research sheds light on the downstream experimental directions such as modeling of neurological diseases or developmental biology. The lab is mainly on the computational side, however a small but functional wetlab is also under construction. For more details, please refer to http://zhanglab.ioz.ac.cn.
Compensations
Now the lab has multiple positions open ranging from assistant investigator to intern students. The compensation will match the experience of the applicants. Notably, PhD student who will graduate next year can apply for Beijing citizen (Beijing Hukou) if he or she is employed.
Requirement
One assistant investigator position; two postdoc positions
- PhD in computational biology, computer science, mathematics or related fields.
- First-author paper in SCI-collected journals.
- Capable of independent research.
One or two research assistant positions
- Bachelor (or above) degree in computational biology, computer science, mathematics or related fields.
- Fluent in English writing and reading.
Intern students
- Natural science background.
- Strong interest in computational biology.
- Strong in English writing and reading.
The applicants with any of the following skills will be perferred
- Familiar with large scale data analysis such as genomic data or transcriptome data.
- Familiar with one of the following languages, such as Perl, Python or C.
- Familiar with one statistical softwares such as R or Matlab.
- Familiar with administration of Linux/Unix systems.
Responsibilities
Assistant investigator: perform independent research, help advise graduate students, join the management of the lab and funding application.
Postdoc: perform independent research and help advise graduate students.
Research assistant: help the management of the lab or participate in the research.
Intern student: participate in the research.
